Challenge:
HBO wants to connect with Southeast Asians authentically. But there was no place for Southeast Asian fans to talk about their unique interpretation of HBO’s award-winning, trauma-inducing, westernised shows. How can we help HBO show that they get Southeast Asians?
Idea:
Through a year-long roll-out, we turned HBO’s award-winning shows into a treasure trove of content that speaks directly to the shared types of “trauma” only Southeast Asians can understand from being shamed by their mothers to getting unfairly compared to an Oscar-winning actress.
